Product description

The 19-piece twist drill assortment includes one drill of each size (1-10 mm in 0.5 mm increments). The twist drills are housed in a sturdy metal case. A distinction is made between roll-formed (HSS-R) and ground twist drills (HSS / HSS-TiN / HSSE). With roll-formed twist drills, the blank is heated during the manufacturing process and formed into a spiral. In contrast, with ground drills, the spiral is ground from the solid, hardened material. This process optimizes the quality of the drill by improving concentricity.

HSS or HSSG (ground) twist drills are suitable for standard holes in steel and cast steel up to 900 N/mm², grey cast iron, malleable cast iron, spheroidal cast iron, sintered iron, nickel silver and graphite.

HSS-TiN (titanium nitride coated) twist drills are suitable for standard drilling in steel and cast steel up to 900 N/mm², gray cast iron, malleable cast iron, ductile iron, sintered iron, nickel silver, and graphite. The TiN coating improves the sliding properties of the twist drills during drilling and increases their hardness.

HSSE twist drills are suitable for standard drilling in alloyed and unalloyed steels, as well as cast iron with a tensile strength of over 800 N/mm². They can also be used in high-alloy steels and tempered or case-hardened steels. The cobalt alloy gives the drills a longer service life and better temperature resistance.

HSS-R twist drills are suitable for standard drilling in steel and cast steel up to 800 N/mm², grey cast iron, malleable cast iron, spheroidal cast iron, sintered iron, nickel silver and graphite.
